Frequently Asked Questions
-
Therapy offers a confidential environment where you can share openly without
judgment. These sessions aim to help you gain insight into your thoughts, emotions,
and patterns of behavior. You’ll learn practical tools to manage stress, improve
communication, and cope with difficulties. Keep in mind that change doesn’t happen
overnight, but consistent effort leads to meaningful growth.
-
Couples therapy offers a safe and supportive space where both partners can feel heard
and understood. Together, you’ll learn practical tools to share your needs, listen with
care, and reduce misunderstandings. While we’ll work on addressing challenges,
therapy also focuses on strengthening trust, deepening intimacy, and building shared
goals. The process works best when both partners are open, engaged, and committed
to growing together.
-
In our first session, I’ll give you a brief overview of my approach, how confidentiality
works, and what you can expect from the therapy process. Then, I’ll invite you to share
what brought you here and what you’d like to accomplish. My goal is to create a safe
and caring space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly, knowing
you’ll be met with understanding and without judgment.
-
I use an open‑schedule system, which means you’re not locked into a fixed weekly time
slot. Instead, you have the flexibility to book sessions at times that work best for you,
based on current availability. This approach allows us to adapt scheduling around your
needs and ensures you can access support when it feels most helpful.
-
Sessions typically last between 53 and 60 minutes.
-
I encourage all my clients to begin with once-a-week meetings for at least the first 6
weeks. This consistency helps build momentum and trust. After progress is established,
some clients choose to reduce sessions to bi-weekly for ongoing support and eventually
monthly for maintenance. Frequency can increase during times of crisis or decrease
when you feel more stable.
-
Sessions are typically 50 minutes once a week, though some clients choose biweekly or more intensive schedules depending on their needs. We’ll set a rhythm that works best for your goals and lifestyle.
-
Private pay rates for my practice are $135 per session for individuals and $185 per session for couples and families.
-
Clients are asked to cancel appointments at least 24 hours in advance. Late
cancellations (within 24 hours of the scheduled time) or missed sessions will incur a $75
fee. Please keep in mind that each session is reserved exclusively for you, and late
changes make it difficult to offer that time to another client who may need support.
-
Yes. I work with a range of insurance plans through a third‑party company. If you’d like to use insurance, I’ll send you a link to set up your client profile before our first intake session.
-
At this time, I do not offer a sliding scale for session fees. I understand that affordability
is an important consideration, and I encourage you to explore your insurance coverage or other resources that may help with costs. My goal is to be transparent about fees so you can make the best decision for your care.
-
I offer couples therapy for partners who want to improve communication, strengthen their connection, and navigate conflict more effectively. The private pay rate for couples sessions is $185. I also work with a variety of insurance plans through a third party company, and I’ll be happy to provide you with the information you need to set that up. Since coverage for couples therapy can vary, I encourage you to check with your insurance provider to confirm whether your plan includes this service.
